Congratulations! No I mean it, congratulations ladies and gentlemen for not being accessible to the powers that be 24/7 for no reason at all. This was one of the options on the cards when (no, it was not put quite in those terms) when the new law for cyber privacy was being discussed. So, take a deep happy breath and know that the governmnet now allows authorities to collect and monitor your internet records, including web-browsing history, social media activity and emails. I find this option a life saver as although I am good at typing, I am also a borne multitasker. It come in amazingly useful having my hands free to do a thousand mindless tasks a woman gets to do by virture of being the only one that sees that half of the things in the office are out of place. God forbid, one of the computer repairs geeks actually bends over to pick up a CD dropped on the floor or collect a cord no longer required after a formatting job….but enough of my venting and back to business. I have written about this type of technology before and although Adaptu Wallet remains my favourite replacement for financial conscience, it does not allow payment by phone. In other words, it does not allow the user to operate their smartphone as if it were a bankcard/bank teller/etc. And as long as my computer repairs geeks need to carry bank teller machines and customers need to go through their array of cards to complete transactions and pay for service – with everything often ending up back at ‘sign this bit of paper’ stage, – I will remain to be very interested in all things that make this part of business easier for all parties… Continue reading “Computer repairs blog: Google reinvents its Wallet with virtual card” »
