Edensor Park Historical Note:

Edensor Park is located 38 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district; it is in the local government area of the City of Fairfield and is part of the greater western Suburbs region

In 1838 Chemist John Brown Bossley (1810-1872) built an English style farmhouse on his land near Clear Paddock Creek – he named his property Edensor after a village near Chatsworth in Derbyshire England. This established the naming of Edensor Park after Edensor House. Up until the 1970’s Edensor Park and the suburbs surrounding it were rural areas.  It was then developed into a residential area; the area once belonged to Prospect County Council before it’s amalgamation into Fairfield City Council.

Edensor Park is mostly a residential suburb serviced by Edensor Park Plaza the local shopping centre. There are two primary schools and one high school in the area. There are also a number of recreational areas – Allambie Reserve, Angle Vale Reserve and Bosnjak Park
