Fiddletown Historical Note:

Fiddletown is located 39 kilometres north of the Sydney central business district; it is in the local government area of Hornsby Shire and is part of the North Shore region.

Fiddletown is a small and quiet rural suburb, which features many orchard farms and rural properties. The town was named after two brothers by the name of Henstock and another young man whose name was Small, they each had their own areas of land, but all three played and carried with them either the violin or a fiddle. The town was named after their instruments.

Areas in Fiddletown were originally mined for the sandstone with many of those who came to work here living in caravans and growing orange orchards some of these orchards can still be found in the Marramarra National Park.

This quiet little town is home to a telephone exchange and the Northholm Grammar School
