Glendenning Historical Note:

The suburb of Glendenning is located 44 kilometres west of the Sydney central business district; it is in the local government area of the City of Blacktown and is part of the Greater Western Sydney region.

In 1987 Glendenning was officially declared a suburb. It was named after local Plumpton butcher William Glendenning who had owned a slaughter yard in Lamb Street during the early 1900’s – in what is now called Glendenning.

In 2008 the Free Wesleyan Church of Tonga was officially opened -  it is on the corner of Glendenning Road and Lamb Street, and was opened by George Tupou V – who is the king of Tonga.

Glendenning is surrounded by the suburbs of Colebee, Dean Park, Quakers Hill, Oakhurst, Doonside, Plumpton and Rooty Hill. It is a predominantly residential suburb, with no high rise developments, apartments or industrial areas
