Ingleburn Historical Note:

Ingleburn is located 44 kilometres south west of the Sydney central business district. It is in the local government area of the City of Campbelltown and is part of the Macarthur region. Ingleburn sits approximately half way between the two commercial areas of Campbelltown and Liverpool

The area was originally inhabited by the Tharawal people. It became known as Soldier Flat in 1809 after land grants to ex soldiers in the NSW Corps.

A rail platform was built in 1869 and given the name of Macquarie Fields Station in recognition of a property further north. In 1881 the Macquarie Fields estate was subdivided to become the new village of Macquarie Fields, having the railway station so far from the township caused confusion so a new name was chosen for the railway station and in 1883 Ingleburn was chosen.

In 1885 the village of Ingleburn was established, with a public school opening in 1887, followed by a post office in 1889
