North Richmond Historical Note:

North Richmond is located 67 kilometres north west of the Sydney central business district; it is part of the local government area of the City of Hawkesbury. Richmond is a separate town to the south east.

The Darug people inhabited the land here before European settlement. In the early years of settlement the area was known as Enfield, but, as this caused confusion with the Sydney suburb of Enfield the name was changed during the 19th century.

In 1978 Colo High School was established in demountable buildings, until the permanent site was completed in 1980. The schools blue and white colours were chosen by the Uniform Committee, while it was the school’s first deputy principle Mr Sam Weller who suggested using the schools building plans as the school logo. The Maths teacher Mr David Stone drew up the design the logo shape represents the tree of knowledge, and its three sections represent Students, staff and the community.
