Wattle Grove Historical Note:

Wattle Grove is located 30 kilometres south west of the Sydney central business district; it is in the local government area of the City of Liverpool

Wattle Grove is a residential suburb with a small shopping centre and a number of recreational areas such as Australia Park, Wattle Grove Park and Lakeside Park. Anzac Village is a locality that crosses the northern part of both Wattle Grove and Holsworthy.

Built on former Australian Defence Force land, the original plans were made in 1970 by the government of Prime Minister Gough Whitlam. The infrastructure was built, but the suburb lay dormant until the 1990’s when Delfin started to further develop the area. In 1992 the suburbs name changed officially from Holsworthy Village to Wattle Grove.

The shopping village at Wattle Grove was built in 1998, but a fire in late 2005 saw several of the business gutted. In 2007 the centre reopened and included a Coles supermarket, and various small stores.
